Tuesday 1st June 2004 - THE DAY OF MY OPERATION.
Well the day of my operation has arrived at last. My son Anthony, sister and brother-in-law accompanied me to Bradford Royal Infirmary. Louise and David then left but Anthony stayed until I came up from my operation. I was in the operating theatre for 6 hours, so I was told. The operation went well, however I developed a collapsed lung, which caused the delay. I was allowed to drink immediately after my operation and was back on normal food the day after. I was put on a P.C.A machine for the pain. I therefore felt little or no pain. Anthony said the site of the operation looked very well. Mr Bem my consultant called to see me and informed me that all had gone very well although he had had to remove part of the nerve to the right side of my mouth.
