Tuesday 4th May 2004 - EVE OF MY
FIRST STAY IN HOSPITAL
Got up, went to work, thought it would keep my mind
active and off tomorrow's operation; no such luck.
As the day went on, I found it harder to keep my
mind off tomorrow when I go in for exploratory biopsies
of the mouth. It's funny really and childlike to
be frightened of a little operation to remove your
tonsil and a few bit of tissue.
Got a Chinese take-away for tea and called at Peter's
place on my way home to eat it. Surprisingly, I
managed to get most of it down, but now I feel sick.
I know its nerves but still this does not help.
Lynette rang and said she had got me some brochures
on cancer treatments etc, so I called in to collect
them. Wish someone was here to stay with me tonight,
but I don't feel like I can ask as they will think
I'm being silly.
Football on television. Will watch that - it may
take my mind off it. I will not be able to write
my diary tomorrow as I will be in hospital. Hopefully
I will be fit and home on Thursday when I will bring
it up to date.
