Friday 7th May 2004
I did not sleep very well last night. Although the
pain was not too bad, I kept waking up every
couple of minutes. I think it must have been the
anaesthetic as the nurse had told me that it would
take 48hrs for it to get out of my system.
Got up at 6:00am, had a shower and then sugar puffs
for breakfast. My mouth was not very sore. Peter got up
and I made him a drink, he then had toast, got me
a paper and milk from the shop then he went to work.
A man from the housing department of the council
came by to see me around 11:45am to sort out my
claim for housing benefit. He had visited yesterday
when Pauline, my first wife, who cleans for me was
here. She had told him about my illness. He informed
me that he had had prostrate cancer and underwent
radiotherapy last year to reduce it. He was very
understanding and sorted me out. Just one or two
things I need to sort out for him for Monday when
he said he would come by again.
I got some mince from the butchers across the road
and cooked it for dinner. Mouth stated to hurt in
the afternoon so I took some pain killers. I suppose
I should have taken them before the pain but will
remember to do so in the future. |
