Saturday 15th May 2004
Went to my local pub last night and arranged for
a buffet to be provided for family and friends on
Saturday 29th May before I go in for my radical
neck dissection on Monday the 1st June. I intend
to have a good bash-up before my treatment begins
and hope this party will put me in the right frame
of mind.
Today, Anthony’s partner, Cheryl, came round
and we went to the garden centre where I got a hanging
basket for the wall above my front door.
I then went to my local to meet a man who had neck
cancer and also had surgery. He was very nice and
talked to me about his treatment. He did not have
radiotherapy, just surgery. He still drinks and
smokes; this is not very good in my opinion as the
medical profession do their best for you so the
least you can do is do your bit. Then again, who
am I to judge anyone.
