Monday 17th May 2004
Today I finally admitted to myself that I will not
be able to continue working from now until I, hopefully,
come out of treatment. I am self-employed so it’s
still a bit of a worry about how I am going to manage.
I had not really accepted it and had been telling
them at work that I would come in. Today I went
in (I have been looking after the works on the M6
motorway at Thelwall Viaduct) and told them so.
Stomach seems ok today but neck tumour is starting
to hurt more. It feels like having a bole that needs
lancing. I am beginning to look forward to having
the tumour removed. Sarah Cost phoned today and
I told her I am defiantly having treatment.
When I got up this morning, I was coughing up fresh
blood, hopefully this was just a one off. If it
happens tomorrow I will phone hospital or my doctor
(or maybe even Sarah).
